Geographically, Kashan is situated in the north of Isfahan Province, and due to its proximity to the desert, it experiences a warm and dry climate. Kashan boasts a rich history, dating back to ancient times. It stands witness to one of the oldest civilizations of Iran, known as the Silck civilization. Around the 5th millennium BCE, the people of Silck laid the foundation of a civilization that still flourishes today, nearly 7000 years later, evident in the remains of its pottery. Despite the devastation caused by successive earthquakes, many historical treasures have endured. Despite the destruction or damage caused by these earthquakes, the remaining grandeur of the structures is so significant that Kashan is often referred to as “Little Isfahan.”
