Tabatabaei House
Located near the Borujerdi House and next to the mausoleum of Sultan Amir Ahmad, this house was built by a person named Seyyed Jafar Tabatabaei from Natanz, which is why it is called the Tabatabaei House. The house has four courtyards. The central courtyard belongs to the exterior part of the house, and two other small courtyards belong to the interior part, while one courtyard is designated for household servants. This house was built on a plot of land measuring 4730 square meters, and its construction was completed around 1250 AH. The architect of this building was also Master Ali Maryam, who skillfully constructed this magnificent house.
The interior section, designated for the Tabatabaei family, consists of rooms surrounding a courtyard and a large basement with a depth of 8 meters below street level. Additionally, wind catchers provide cool and refreshing air to the house during the hot summer months, reducing the temperature difference between the inside and outside to more than 20 degrees Celsius. The exterior part of the house is designed for guests and ceremonies, including a large hall (Shah Neshin) located on the southern side, featuring stained-glass windows and colorful double-layered windows.
The Shah Neshin is adorned with exquisite plasterwork and delicate mirror work. On both sides of the Shah Neshin, two secluded courtyards are symmetrically constructed, adorned with beautiful paintings and murals. The service area includes rooms, cellars, a kitchen, and a stable. The Tabatabaei House has 5 entrances, divided into two main entrances at the octagonal entrance, leading to the inner and outer entrances.
