The Golestan Palace

The Golestan Palace, also known as the “Palace of Flowers,” is the name given to a historical complex later recognized as the “Royal Qajar Complex of Tehran.” This name originates from a hall within the current Golestan Palace area, belonging to the reign of Fath-Ali Shah Qajar, which during the time of Naser al-Din Shah was known as the “Blessed Edifices of Golestan” and during the rule of Mozaffar ad-Din Shah as the “Palace of Golestān” and became an official term. The Mirror Hall is one of the rooms of the Golestan Palace in Tehran, the capital of Iran, located in the west of the Golestan Complex, above the entrance portal of the main building and west of the Salam Hall. This hall, along with the Salam Hall, was built in 1874 by Sani ol molk and its decoration lasted until 1882.

The palace comprises various sections, including the Marble Throne Veranda, Salam Hall, Mirror Hall, Reception Hall, Khaatun’s Seclusion, Brilliant Hall, Windcatcher Mansion, Shams al-Emareh Palace, Diamond Hall, and the Ivory Palace, among others, which are some of the most important and valuable parts of the fascinating Golestan Palace complex.
