The Ivory Hall
The Ivory Hall is one of the halls in the main building of the Golestan Palace, located after the Mirror Hall and west of the Brilliant Hall. The exact date of the construction of this hall and the pool underneath it is unknown. Certainly, this hall was built before the Salam Hall and the Mirror Hall and belongs to the period of Naser al-Din Shah. However, later in his time, he made some changes to its facade to harmonize it with the other two halls. Previously, this hall had an ivan (porch), which was removed in the recent changes, and a ceiling was added to it, while the previous columns were preserved. During the time of Naser al-Din Shah, the gifts from foreign governments were kept in this hall, and during the Pahlavi era, it served as a reception and banquet venue for official court gatherings; therefore, significant interior changes were made to it.
