The Maqbaratoshoara

The Maqbaratoshoara, with its beautiful and distinguished structure, is recognized today as one of the cultural symbols of Tabriz city. This mausoleum is located in the historic neighborhood of Saraye Sorkh in Tabriz. In the past, a part of the cemetery in the Saraye Sorkh neighborhood was known as the burial place of poets. The Maqbaratoshoara is a collection representing the literary history of Iran, encompassing great figures from this domain. It stands as one of the main symbols of Tabriz and is situated near other historical buildings. One observable feature of this mausoleum is its architectural style, which is a blend of traditional and modern elements. Constructed with a metal foundation and five layers of earth, the building is meticulously crafted to ensure greater durability. The height of the Maqbaratoshoara is approximately 30 meters, and over the years, it has been recognized as a historical symbol of Tabriz. Upon entering, visitors are greeted with stairs leading to the grand structure. The building is adorned with intricate details and features domes that captivate the attention of any visitor. To enter the mausoleum’s door, one must descend the stairs, and upon reaching the main section, a large chamber surrounded by smaller rooms comes into view. One of these rooms contains the tomb of the renowned poet Shahriar Mohammad Hossein Shahriar Tabrizi, who composed poetry in both Persian and Turkish. This room, adorned with the beauty and grandeur of famous verses, including those of Maqbaratoshoara, is exceptionally charming and delightful.
