The Windcatcher Mansion
This mansion was built by the order of Fath Ali Shah Qajar and was the place of coronation for Mozaffar al-Din Shah. It is one of the important and beautiful structures of the Golestan Palace, charming the heart of Tehran’s Arg Square with its unique architecture. Among the beauties of this mansion are its cross-shaped plan, spacious and beautiful courtyards, mirror and stucco decorations, four windcatchers in the four corners of the mansion, decorated windcatchers with marquetry, marble staircase, stained glass windows, and more, all of which are very eye-catching. The sections of the Windcatcher Mansion include the royal seating area, earring rooms, upper chambers, cool courtyard (summer cooling), windcatchers, etc. And because of its tall windcatchers, it is named as such.
