Types of Schengen Visas
Airport Transit Visa (Type A)
With a Schengen visa type A, you can transit through Schengen airports without entering the Schengen area. This means travelers can only change flights at one of the Schengen airports and travel to another non-Schengen country. Travelers are not allowed to exit the airport and enter the city.
Transit Visa
With a Schengen transit visa, you can transit within the Schengen area for a maximum of 5 days, after which you must leave the Schengen countries and travel to your destination country.
Entry and Residence Visa for Schengen Member Countries (Type C)
With a Schengen visa type C, you can enter and reside in the Schengen member countries. This visa has 3 types, and depending on your travel objectives and circumstances, you can apply for the third type of visa.
Types of Entry and Residence Visas for Schengen Countries
Single-entry Visa
With a single-entry visa, you can only enter the European Schengen countries once. After traveling to the desired country and leaving it, your visa will be invalidated, even if there is time left before its expiration.
Double-entry Visa
Similar to a single-entry visa, a double-entry visa allows individuals to enter Schengen countries twice within a specified period. After that, travelers must leave the Schengen countries to their destination.
Multiple-entry Visa
As the name suggests, this visa allows multiple entries into Schengen countries. Travelers with a multiple-entry Schengen visa can also travel between Schengen countries and stay. This visa has a time limit, allowing a stay of up to 90 days within a 180-day period, calculated from the date of entry into any of the Schengen countries.
